My name is Nala!

Nala is an intense, high-energy dog looking for a loving home where she can thrive. She does best with active owners who can ensure she gets daily exercise, structure, companionship and ideally be around other dogs. She's incredibly smart and deeply loyal. When she bonds with you she will stay by your side no matter what, she's a classic companion dog. With this intense bond she does have quite a bit of separation anxiety which has required a lot of training, structure, and even medication as needed (trazodone). She has also been protective of her owners and has nipped when feeling overwhelmed. She is a very trainable dog, has improved drastically in all of these areas, but, continues to be a challenge and will make an amazing dog for specifically the right type of person. This person needs to be patient, committed, have space, and maybe even other dogs for her to have a pack to integrate in.
