NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
NEW INTAKE 12/25/2024: Fru Fru LaRue - female - approx 8 years old - 5.8 pounds - Yorkie
Reason for intake: We were contacted by a rescue friend that this little girl wandered up to a rural home in Shongaloo, La. It appears that someone is dumping little dogs because there were two others found that ended up at another rescue, both wearing the same collar as Fru Fru LaRue. She is has long-time matting (not recent) around her rear and around her paws. She has a dewclaw that grew into her paw pad that we were able to carefully remove. She is missing hair on her back and legs. Her teeth are in bad shape as well. Because technically she is a stray, we will hold her as a stray and send her to the vet at the end of next week. Stay tuned.
NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.416768288349589&type=3 OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
