Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ABOUT ME:
Hi! My name’s Macie, and I’m on a journey to becoming the best house dog ever! I was found as a stray in Merion Village, and even though I was a little scared of the world at first, I’ve made huge progress in learning to trust humans again. Unfortunately, rescues are BURSTING at the seams, and I am currently in boarding, waiting patiently for my furever home. My adoption fee has been reduced to $75.00, as I currently require daily medication while I adjust.
I AM GREAT WITH:
• Children & cats!
• Gentle, non-reactive dogs
• Learning commands and leash training (I’m already a pro at sitting at corners!).
• Crate training—I’ve got it down!
• People who are patient and willing to help me continue learning and growing.
I AM STILL WORKING ON:
• Trusting new people, especially men—but I warm up quickly with treats!
• Building confidence in new situations—I’m trying hard every day!
I AM NOT SURE ABOUT YET:
• Dogs that are very forward or reactive with me
I REQUIRE:
• Plenty of exercise, either with a fenced yard or regular walks.
• A patient, loving home to help me grow into the amazing dog I know I can be.
• Anxiety medications for now, but maybe not furever.
MORE ABOUT ME!
• I’ve discovered some of my favorite things in life: peanut butter (yum!), ice cubes (aka: Ice COOBIES), playing tug-of-war with my rope toy, soaking up the sun on warm days, and, of course, tasty treats.
• I’ve been working hard on my training. I know commands like “sit,” “stay,” “leave it,” and “easy.” On walks, I keep a loose lead and sit politely at every corner or when my handler stops.
• Treats are my love language, and I’m always looking to my humans for guidance because I want to be the very best girl I can be!
• I’m still learning that humans can be kind and trustworthy. I can be a little nervous around men, but if they have treats, I tend to warm up quickly. Right now, I prefer meeting new people on my level (kneeling, or sitting down), but I’m building my confidence every day.
• I’m currently on anxiety medicine to help me adjust to this new house dog lifestyle, but I don’t think I’ll need it forever.
• A fenced yard would be amazing, but I’d also be happy with plenty of walks and exercise to keep me active and happy!
• I am spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and current on preventatives.
