Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The similarities to our Jafar and his namesake Disney's Aladdin's Jafar... are well non-existent.
Jafar is a terribly shy 6 month old Mini Aussie pup. Jafar was part of a litter of pups whose breeder was unsuccessful in selling them, so now at over 5 months they were surrendered in need of finding a new home. Jafar is painfully shy but does take lead very well from other mild mannered and appropriate dogs. He currently is crushing on Leslie, the shelter's in-house puppy sitter.
As for other dog things, Jafar is still so very nervous of people that he doesn't walk on leash, or enjoy touching. He is getting a little braver each and every day and is starting to approach us willingly, and explore our yard a little more freely in the presence of Leslie.
Jafar is going to need a very quiet and patient home, with another well adjusted, people and dog-social dog. And due to his timid nature Jafar would require a fully fenced yard to encourage house training, and a safe place to build confidence while learning to walk on leash.
Jafar is available for adoption or foster to fearful dog experienced homes. If you are interested in fostering Jafar, you must live in NH within 30 minutes of the shelter, as a home visit is required for all foster homes. For more information about Jafar, please email info@rescueleague.org
