Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This sweet pup was was found all alone in the woods by a good-hearted man. The man brought him home, his wife bathed the pup to get rid of hordes of fleas and ticks -- and their kids named him "Gunner". Due to their son's allergies they can not keep him, so they reached out to SPCHS for help. Sadly, right now, we have NO foster homes that can take on one more animal -- even one as adorable as little Gunner. Can you help? Would you open your home and heart to this sweet boy? He's available to foster, foster-to-adopt and of course, available for adoption! If you can provide a loving foster home, SPCHS pays ALL costs -- food, toys, vetting, etc. You provide a safe loving home and transportation to veterinary appointments so that he can get the rest of his puppy shots.
Gunner is very friendly. He LOVES kids and gets along with other dogs. He's working on house-training and has received his first round of puppy shots. When he's old enough he will be neutered, or if adopted before he's old enough to be neuters, SPCHS will provide a voucher that will cover the cost of his alteration.

After you complete an application, there are several things that we will do:
1. We will check your personal references. Please be sure to list two personal references and include a phone number and an email address. (form asks for one; but I like two)
2. If you do not own your place of residence, we will call your landlord or leasing office. Please check with them first to learn about their pet policy.
3. We will call your veterinarian for a reference. We are looking for a history of annual exams, vaccines maintained routinely, annual heartworm tests and monthly preventatives. We require the following:
* All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered.
* If your pet is not up to date on vaccines, please do not submit the application until you have scheduled an appointment with the vet to get your pets current on their vaccines.
4. If you are a 1st-time pet owner, please include the name and phone number of the veterinarian you plan to use.
5. Be sure to call your Vet(s), giving them permission to speak with us.
6. We may need to do a home visit prior to approving your application, or post-adoption.
If these policies and practices are not acceptable, please do not apply.
