Marilyn is one of three rabbits who came to us from a farm, where she and her companions lived in very poor conditions. Marilyn lived for 6 years in a very sad, small wire-floored cage in direct sunlight. She was originally bought with the other two rabbits to be bred for meat, but when the rabbits did not reproduce they were given to the farm. They were fed very poor diets and not handled well, so it took them some time to adjust to an indoor life with loving caretakers.
Despite everything she has been through Marilyn is an extremely sweet girl! She is great with her litter box. She is nervous about being picked up but she loves head pets. She is easily spooked by various new house sounds, so it is important for her to have a safe hidey house she can run to. Marilyn loves lying and relaxing in her flop bed. When Marilyn was spayed the vet found cancer, but it was all able to be removed. Since then, she has perked up tremendously and seems to be feeling her best! This gentle beauty is all ready to find her permanent home, and her flop bed is coming with her!
We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!
Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.
