Meet the Pet
***Cocoa is currently being fostered in the Flemington/Ringoes, NJ area and available for adoption in the NJ and surrounding areas. Questions about Cocoa and/or our adoption process should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com (no phone calls please). An application for her adoption should be submitted at socorescue.com; no need to "Register" or "Login".***
At just a few days old, Cocoa and her two sisters were found huddled together in a the yard of a Vidalia, GA home. According to the home owner, no other dog had been seen in the area and no dog ever reappeared to claim her puppies. We were able to get the puppies into our rescue and under the care of staff member Tina, who has extensive experience bottle feeding young pups. Unfortunately one of the pups was just too weak to save, but Cocoa and her sister, Oreo, survived their ordeal.
Cocoa now appears to be a very healthy pup. She's playful, friendly and very affectionate. Of course, being so young, she'll need all of her basic training. We're not yet sure what her mix of breed may be, but we do see a lot of Bully, Lab and Hound mix dogs in our area.
She's already received 2/3 of her first year "puppy" vaccinations, her Bordatella vaccine, de-wormed at proper intervals and started on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. She should receive her rabies vaccination after she turns 12 weeks old. Her adopter must agree to having her spay at 6 months of age and providing verification of such to our rescue.
