My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie is a loving sweet dog who absolutely adores children. She lived with a toddler whom she loved. Unfortunately the family’s life circumstances changed and they had to give up Rosie after years with them. This broke Rosie’s heart but we have tried to mend it. She is being fostered by the owner of the rescue and gets to enjoy the company of other dogs to play with. She is great with cats as well. She is potty pad and outdoor trained. She will roll over for belly rubs, sit up “Pretty” on her own for attention and enjoys singing with you. She loves car rides, walks and shopping. She is non destructive. She is active and very healthy. She loves to sleep in bed with you if allowed and will dive under the covers to sleep. She loves to wrap herself up in her favorite blanket as a burrito. Her coat fits her like a glove so without an undercoat, shedding is very minimal. She would be great for a family or an active senior. She was rescued from the panhandle of Fla. and transported north. She is available in NY/NJ tri state area. She comes with a new harness/collar and leash and winter coat. She is up to date on her vetting and is microchipped. For next step for questions or adoption application, text 845-671-0345. Find us on Facebook.

Please note- We are not a shelter, therefore we do not have "hours", nor do we receive funding of any sort to offset our costs. We are run strictly by volunteers. All costs for these dogs are paid for by Precious Petz Rescue. please respect the time taken out of a busy schedule, therefore, please be prompt and give the courtesy of a call if you are going to be late. Animals may be seen at Adoption events as well.

More about this rescue

We rescue animals out of high kill shelters in NYC, China and South Korea meat trade, and the south,as well as local owner surrenders. Our primary focus are small (under 20 lbs) dogs, many are Chihuahua/mixes, Maltese/mixes, Poodle/mixes, Shitzu/mixes, Lhasa Apso/mixes and Terrier Types, along with Standard Poodles/Mixes and Sapsali’s. It is our way of giving back by saving lives, rehabilitating medical needs and re-homing. We also are trying to stop Pet Stores sales of puppy mill pups, which may carry many genetic defeats as well as being unhealthy, these sales promote cruelty and abuse for the parents who are used strictly as breeding "machines" with no regard for their health and well being. To learn about puppy mills, please go to YouTube and search for HSUS Or puppy mills. Please adopt, don't shop!
