My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Abry – The Snuggly English Bull Terrier Pup Who Loves Her People!

Abry is an adorable English Bull Terrier puppy who was lucky enough to be born in rescue, giving her the best possible start in life. At just 9 weeks old, Abry is already known for her sweet, affectionate nature and her love for being close to her humans. She’s a true cuddlebug who thrives on companionship and will be happiest in a home where her people are around often or where she has a canine sibling to keep her company.

Abry’s mom weighs about 40 pounds, and dad is a solid 50, so she’s likely to grow into a sturdy, medium-sized companion. Potential adopters should have breed experience or deep knowledge about English Bull Terriers. While they’re often compared to Pit Bull Terriers, English Bull Terriers are unique with their own set of lovable and challenging traits.

Special Considerations for Abry

Abry is an extra snuggly pup who craves close human interaction. She’ll do best with adopters who:

  • Are home frequently or work from home.
  • Can provide a consistent routine and plenty of love.
  • Have another dog in the home to keep her company when humans are away.

Training and socialization are essential for Abry to ensure she grows into a well-rounded adult dog, and she’ll return the effort with unwavering loyalty and cuddles galore.

What Makes Bull Terriers Special?

Bull Terriers are best known for their:

  • Goofy personalities: From spontaneous zoomies to carrying around odd treasures, they keep you laughing.
  • Clown-like behavior: They’re natural comedians and love being the center of attention.
  • Stubborn streak: These pups are smart but can be headstrong, so patient, positive reinforcement training is key.
  • Endless energy: Playful and energetic, they need daily mental and physical stimulation to thrive.

Is Abry the Right Fit for You?

English Bull Terriers are not a good match for first-time dog owners or families with small children due to their strength, boisterous nature, and need for consistent boundaries. Abry’s ideal adopter will:

  • Have prior experience with Bull Terriers or similar breeds.
  • Provide a loving home where she can be close to her humans and/or a companion dog.
  • Be ready to embrace her playful yet snuggly personality.

If you’re looking for a pup who will fill your life with laughter, love, and cuddles, Abry might just be your perfect match! Are you ready to welcome this sweet, affectionate girl into your family?

More about this rescue

Needy Paws Rescue, located in St. Louis, MO, is devoted to saving animals in need, whose lives are in danger at high kill animal shelters & animal controls, those who are strays, have been abandoned or whose family has faced an extreme emergency, regardless of their size or breed.

Our organization is made up of Volunteers who have been involved in various animal rescues in the St. Louis area and we plan to use our knowledge & experience to make a difference. We believe spaying & neutering is a very important step in keeping pets healthy & happy, plus it helps decrease overpopulation. All of our rescued animals will be spayed or neutered, they will be microchipped to ensure they are identifiable if lost or stolen and they will be current on all of their vaccinations before going to their Forever Homes.

We are foster-based and all pets stay in approved Foster Homes that have passed inspections, reference checks and are qualified to take care of our rescued animals while they wait for their Forever Family. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will be making home visits and conducting veterinarian checks & reference checks to ensure the pets will have a safe, loving, happy home. Forever Families will be taught how to care for their pet and learn how to get the most out of their relationship with their new family member. We also have an after-care specialist who will be in contact with the families after the adoption to see how well they're doing together
