Meet our extra-special duo - Hazy and Hopper!
Hazy is estimated to be around a year old and Hopper is around 2-3 months old. These cuties are two peas in a pod and we are looking to have them be adopted together. They spend all day playing and cuddling together and it's pretty hard not to fall in love with their special bond. Hazy is fully grown and weighs about 8lbs. Hopper is still very much a baby and has lots of growing to do.
Hazy came to us from a local shelter after she was found as a stray. The staff quickly learned she was pregnant and it wasn't long before she had her babies. Unfortunately, none of her babies survived and Hazy was depressed and missed being a mom - that's when Hopper came in! Hopper was found all by himself in someone's yard and needed bottle feeding, and most importantly, a mom. Hazy was quick to accept Hopper as her own and the two have been inseparable ever since!
Hazy is very much the type of dog who likes to be the center of attention and she is quick to make herself cozy in your lap. But don't let her size fool you, she is an active girl who LOVES to play, run, and explore. She especially loves wrestling and playing tag with Hopper. Hazy is a very affectionate girl and isn't the biggest fan of being home alone, so she would thrive with a family that won't have to leave her alone often or for long.
Hopper is your typical full-of-energy kitten and is growing up to be such a blast to be around. He loves to wrestle with Hazy and can often be found getting into mischief when bored. Both kiddos need a family who can provide them with lots of daily enrichment and exercise to keep their busy minds and bodies occupied. Hazy is still learning all of her basic manners, but is VERY food-motived, which makes training fun.
Hazy and Hopper have done well living with other dogs and have become buddies with a few of the other dogs in their foster home. They also would do great as the only fur kiddos in the home. Hazy thinks of Hopper as her baby and not so much as a cat and thinks it's fun to chase the adult cats in her foster home. She likely would do best as having Hopper be the only kitty in her life. Hazy and Hopper could be wonderful additions to homes with kids 10 years or older.
Hazy is housetrained and Hopper is litterbox trained. Both kiddos are used to sleeping in bed with their foster mom. Hazy thinks she is a guard dog, so she wouldn't be a good fit for apartment life. Kitties adopted from the Yolo County SPCA must remain indoor-only cats in their fur-ever homes.
Hazy and Hopper are such loving kiddos and they deserve the best home. If you think that might be with you, submit an adoption application today! You can fill out a dog application and it will apply to both animals.
Hazy and Hopper's combined adoption fee is $350.

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to his or her age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
