My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Panda is a high-energy, intelligent boy who is very true to his breed mix-always on the go and ready for action! He thrives when his mind is kept busy and loves puzzles and toys made to challenge him. Panda is the kind of dog who needs constant mental stimulation to stay content, so he'll need an active home with plenty of enrichment to keep him engaged.

Panda can be selective with other dogs, so if he were to live with another, he would do best in a home with a tolerant, well-mannered dog who can help him learn proper boundaries. He'd also benefit greatly from working with an AnimalKind trainer to refine his manners and improve his social skills. As a shepherd, Panda has a strong herding instinct, so he wouldn't do well in a home with small children or small pets.

If you're ready for a fun, active boy who loves to use his brain and can offer him the time, patience, and structure he needs, Panda might just be your perfect match. Submit your pre-adoption questionnaire here: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
