My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Eggnog, the little pup with a big heart! Eggnog joined us from a local shelter after a scary moment during her spay procedure when her heart briefly stopped. Deemed unadoptable because of this, Eggnog needed a rescue to step in and give her the chance she deserves. And we’re so glad we did because this tiny dynamo is doing wonderfully and is ready to find her forever home!

Eggnog does have a heart murmur, which means her heart makes a little extra noise as it pumps. While this might sound concerning, many dogs with heart murmurs live normal, happy lives. Eggnog’s murmur will need occasional monitoring by her vet to ensure her heart stays in tip-top shape, but she doesn’t currently require any medications or special treatments. She’s a shining example of resilience, reminding us all to embrace life’s quirks.

At just 16 pounds, Eggnog is as petite as they come—low to the ground but big on personality. This spunky 5-year-old is peppy, playful, and always on the move. She loves zipping around the yard, showing off her speed, and running circles around her canine friends here at the rescue. Walks are another favorite activity, where her curious nose leads the way as she explores every corner of her world.

Eggnog is a social butterfly who adores people and gets along well with other dogs. She’s also food-motivated and eager to please. She’s already mastered the art of sitting, which she’ll happily show off for a treat (or two). Sure, sitting might be the most basic trick, but the way she does it—with her tail wagging a mile a minute and her eyes sparkling with excitement—makes it extra special.

This little lady's warm, affectionate nature make her impossible not to fall for. She’s looking for a family who will cherish her quirks, celebrate her energy, and give her the love and care she deserves. Are you ready to make Eggnog part of your family? Trust us—this tiny sweetheart will bring endless laughter and love into your life. Don’t wait; inquire about Eggnog today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
