Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Say hello to Mocha, a big-hearted pug with an even bigger personality! At just 3 years old, Mocha has already shown he’s a true survivor, and now he’s ready to leave his challenging past behind and embrace a bright, love-filled future.
Mocha’s story is a testament to resilience. He came to us because his previous owner could no longer care for him, and on top of that, he’s had a rough go with his health. Liver issues led to treatments that threw him for a loop—steroids caused his immune system to weaken, and he even lost some of his fur. But here’s the good news: Mocha is bouncing back in style. His fur is growing in, his energy is returning, and his playful, happy spirit is shining through.
His future family will need to be his health champions, ensuring he stays on track with twice-yearly blood tests to monitor his liver and managing any medications as needed. It might sound like a lot, but Mocha promises to repay your care with endless cuddles, laughs, and loyalty.
And let’s talk about his personality—because Mocha is more than just his medical history. He’s 26 pounds of pure joy, always ready to be part of the action. He’s fantastic with other dogs, does just great with cats, and absolutely adores kids. Mocha thrives on being around people, whether he’s zooming around the yard, snuggling on the couch, or soaking up attention from anyone willing to give it.
Mocha is a dog who will light up your life with his silly antics, warm snuggles, and zest for life. If you’re ready to welcome a dog who will love you unconditionally and keep you smiling, Mocha is your guy. Please inquire today—we know he can’t wait to meet you!

More about this rescue
Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
