Dog Name: Swoop
Breed: Mixed
Sex: Female
Age: 8 weeks
Weight: 4 lbs.
Medical Needs: Will need DAPPVs number 3 and 4 to complete the series.
Spaying is also needed once Swoop is old enough. This must be completed by
April 30, 2025, and is covered by Grass Roots Rescue. Appointments can be scheduled in
Georgetown, Dover, and Wilmington.
Foster to adopt families must live within one hour of Delaware and be willing to bring pup
back for her appt. when the time comes.
Housebroken: No, but starting to understand what to do when she goes out.
Crate trained: No, but sleeps through the night in her crate.
Good in the car: Rode fine in a crate to her foster’s home.
Good on a leash: Not tested
Energy level: Medium, with wiggles. She has your typical puppy energy but will sack out after a good playing session.
Need a fenced in yard: No, stays close by you.
Dog Friendly: Yes
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive home? Preferable, but not necessary. She loves having a buddy, however you can be her new one. When left alone in the crate, she will cry a few minutes then settle down.
Cat Friendly? Unsure. She is very friendly and tries to play with resident cats. If you have dog-savvy cats, she will learn her boundaries.
Kid Friendly: Not tested yet.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Six and up. She is still learning how to use her sharp puppy teeth with respect.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?
Swoop is a social gal that loves being with her people. She loves romping around with crinkle toys and dog pals, but also enjoys giving you butterfly kisses and snuggling on your lap. She is not a big fan of the cold weather, and would rather be exploring inside. She’ll need to be crated when no one is at home or at night. She does great in the crate after a play session and sleeps all night until the household rouses. She has had a crate buddy and whines when left alone in the crate, so she will need some extra understanding as she adjusts to being a single gal.
