Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
A young mother still a pup herself dumped off the highway on a dirt road to fend for herself and two puppies. A Good Samaritan sees the mother scavenging for food so she stops to help her. To her surprise not only is the momma dog friendly but leads her into the woods to her babies tucked away for safety. There is no telling how long they had been in the woods surviving with no food, water, or shelter but regardless of being skinny and scared, they craved the attention and love of humans and other dogs. In an effort not to send them into a kill shelter and fail them again, rescues came together to save this beautiful family! Momma (Naomi) is flourishing in her foster home and lives with 3 other dogs as well as young children. She never meets a stranger and loves to play! She is doing great with crate training and has only had 2 accidents inside but those were probably due to the bad weather outside. She walks well on a leash and loves car rides. She is all ears and currently working on commands such as sit, come, and leave it! This sweet lady could be a perfect match for any type family with the only requirements being love and attention. Ashley and Wynonna are your typical puppies who love to play, eat, and sleep. When found, Ashley had a wound on her head and damage to the tip of her tail. After seeing them together, it is evident that the wound and injury could have been due to protecting her sister. Ashley is much more assertive and confident of the two. Wynonna is more reserved and shy but has come out of her shell and starting to trust humans. Both love to be held and cuddled by humans and other dogs.
This little family will be arriving 7/3/20. The puppy adoption fee is $250 and the application is at www.northcountrypetadoption.org

More about this rescue
We are a volunteer-run, 501(c)3 foster-based rescue, which means we do not have a central building. Our rescue registration number with the State of NY is RR131. For logistical reasons, all of our foster homes are in Lewis and Jefferson Counties. If there is an animal you are interested in meeting, we ask you to first fill out the adoption application, which can be found in the main menu. You do not need to live in Lewis or Jefferson county to adopt; we do adopt out of state (and to Canada as well!)
