My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Enid is a cute female kitty who came to the HSOV on July 23, 2024 along with her mother (Sofia) and her two brothers (Carl and Daryl). Enid was a 2-month old kitten at that time. Sofia and her babies were brought in as 'safe-keeping' kitties with the intention that they would eventually go back home .. But circumstances changed and they were not reclaimed.

This young lady has a brown tabby-and-white short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, a dusting of white on her muzzle, and long white whiskers.

Enid was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on August 20th-August 24th. She weighed 2.5 lbs. Enid was given booster vaccines on September 3, 2024.

Enid was a happy, playful kitten who shared a cage with her brothers (Carl & Daryl) after they were separated from their mother .. And Enid was later separated from her brothers as they all had 'matured'. Enid was very lonely by herself and missed having her playmates.

Enid was spayed on December 17, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 5.12 lbs that day.

These photos of Enid were taken on December 21, 2024 in our 'studio' when Enid posed for her 'big girl' pictures. Enid has a friendly, rather cautious, personality and was a bit of her comfort zone being taken from her cage into an unfamiliar environment .. But she posed for beautiful pictures in spite of being apprehensive. Thanks to HSOV Lead Feline Kennel Tech Lauryn Hamilton for giving Enid extra TLC to reassure her that these 'passport photos' might be her ticket out of the shelter and into a loving home. Lauryn also lovingly carried Enid back to her small cage afterwards. Enid is good with her people friends (including children) and is also good with other cats. Enid hasn't been around dogs, so we don't know how she feels about canine friends.

Enid is ready to find a loving home either through adoption or rescue with someone who will have the patience to let her acclimate to her new home on her own timeline.

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
