Rue is absolutely the sweetest and gentlest dog ever!! We cannot figure out how she wasn't claimed but here we are! This dog is very people friendly and calm and would do well in any family. She is very well mannered and walks extremely well on leash. She could live with another well matched low energy dog but will not tolerate reactive or pushy behavior directed to her. She is quite indifferent with other dogs. If you are looking for an easy dog to live with that would love to be your best friend, then come on down and meet this lovely girl! Rue needs to have her left eye removed due to an old traumatic injury. That will be scheduled soon!

At City of Vancouver Animal Services, we have a foster-to-adopt program whereby prospective new owners foster the adoptable animal for 21 days before committing to adoption. This ensures that both the new owner and the adoptable animal are well suited to each other.

Donation

We gratefully accept monetary donations, as well as donations of supplies for dogs and small animals. Monetary donations are used to help pay for veterinary care and supplies, particularly for stray animals that have extraordinary medical issues that must be treated before they are ready to be adopted. Tax receipts are issued for donations of $20 or more. How to make a monetary donation: -Cheques payable to “City of Vancouver” can be mailed to: Animal Shelter, 1280 Raymur Avenue, Vancouver V6A 3L8 -Call 311 and ask to be transferred to Animal Services to pay by credit card -Email your name and phone number to animal.services@vancouver.ca We will phone you to request your credit card details. If you let us know a convenient time to call, we’ll do our best to call you then. -Visit Animal Services at 1280 Raymur Avenue We accept cash, cheque, debit or credit card
