My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hamish is absolutely adorable! But don't let those looks fool you! This little guy has a loud voice and is very playful!! Hamish has had a rough start and was not exposed to much in the outside world so he isn't housetrained or leash trained yet and is a bit shy with new situations and overwhelmed when outside. He will need some encouragement and positive reinforcement to show him that the world isn't so scary. Another confident dog would be helpful to show him the way and give him the guidance he needs. Hamish should be ok with dog saavy children but he can be a bit mouthy so little ones may not be so ideal for him at this time.

At City of Vancouver Animal Services, we have a foster-to-adopt program whereby prospective new owners foster the adoptable animal for 21 days before committing to adoption. This ensures that both the new owner and the adoptable animal are well suited to each other.

Adoption Fee $374
Includes:
-Spay/Neuter
-First set of shots

If you live in Vancouver, you will also need to buy a dog license.

More about this shelter

Want to adopt a pet and give them a forever home? We're thrilled! Our pro-adoption shelter places 200 to 300 dogs and small animals every year with families and homes that best meet the needs of the animals.

We have dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs. While puppies are popular, older dogs can be great pets, too. They are smart and grateful companions that won't leave you with puppy puddles or chewed-up slippers. Why not enrich your life and that of an older dog?

We also adopt out small animals including rabbits, hamsters, birds, rats, guinea pigs, and sometimes reptiles.
