My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Green was transferred in from another animal welfare organization on December 4, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Green, our bashful bundle of fluff who's still learning that humans can be her pals. This kitten can be a bit shy at first, but warms up over time. Wand toys are her jam, and she's willing to negotiate friendships for the low, low price of yummy treats! Green's dream home is calm, quiet, and filled with cozy hiding spots where she can plan her debut as a fearless feline (with no forced interactions, please). A patient adopter with a cat-social kitty already on staff will be her perfect match. Green has been treated for ringworm (a fungal skin infection), and she has been cleared by skin culture testing. No treatment is needed right now, but we recommend monitoring Green and consulting your vet if you notice any areas of hair loss. Rest assured, Green is ready to charm her way into your heart! Oh, and don't forget to bring a cat carrier!

Shy/Fearful Cat:  Green requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
