My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Cynthia was brought in by her previous owner on December 22, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Cynthia! This independent gal spends her days doing her own thing - likely plotting her next play session - but don't mistake her for a lone ranger. She's a champion door-opener and will insist on being part of the action-even if you're just brushing your teeth. Although she often wants to be near you, she can be sensitive about how she's pet and would do best in a home where everyone can read her body language and respond appropriately. She has lived with other cats and did great after slow introductions. Once she warms up, it's a full-on playfest of zoomies, toy-chasing, and catnaps with her furry squad. With her humans, Cynthia won't monopolize laps (she's got dignity, you know), but she'll come over for some attention, because hey, everyone deserves a sprinkle of Cynthia's charm. Cynthia is equal parts loving, silly, and curious. She's waiting to make your home a little more magical (and a lot more fun). Bring a cat carrier because she's ready to roll out!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
