My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Victor is a 1-year-old pocket Pittie, who was rehomed due to a separation. Victor loves being around people and is super cuddly. He has lived with children before, and is all around very well socialized with humans. He has also lived with cats and shows zero aggression, but if living in a home with cats, we would definitely suggest to make the introduction slowly so that it's a positive experience for everyone. Victor was dog tested before he was sterilized and showed a bit too much intensity for our liking. Now that he's been neutered, we are hoping that his reaction and approach to other dogs will be different. He has lived with a larger female for his whole life and it went very well, we are going to dog test him again but with females to see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, Victor should not be in a home with other dogs nor around other dogs without the proper training.

Victor is a great walker on leash. Although he's very strong, he is quite respectful and tries not to pull too much. Some leash training would definitely be advised. Victor is crate trained as well so if you leave the house for a certain period of time it would be advised to create him until you're able to teach him how to have the full reign of the house. Victor is a sweet and happy boy and would make an incredible addition to anyone's family!

Victor is vaccinated, microchipped, has his flea, tick & heartworm prevention and is sterilized and will come with his medical booklet.
Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things!

Additional adoption info

We do regular follow ups and virtual home visits before the family meet the dog. :)

Go meet their pets

We are presently foster based so the meetings will take place where the dogs are being kept and that way the potential family can also discuss the good and bad habits of that dog to see if it's the right fit. The families need to be willing to work on a behaviour if it needs work and to provide the appropriate time and patience for the dog to accllimate to it's new home!

More about this rescue

We are a small shelter with lots of experience with dogs and rescuing. I worked for a larger shelter in the past but didn't always appreciate the way things were handled so I decided to branch out in a smaller scale but with all of the wonderful contacts and information that I've learned in the past decade + of doing rescue! Dogs are my passion and I would love to place as many as possible in their loving, furever homes!
