My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Devina was brought in by a community member on December 18, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Devina, a sweet but shy dog looking for a patient and understanding family. Devina can be fearful at first, so she needs a home where she can feel safe and loved. She would thrive in a calm, quiet environment with no young children (under 10 years old), and a family that has the time and patience to help her build trust and confidence. With the right care, Devina will blossom into a loyal and loving companion.

At SDHS:
She has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. She is now ready for her new home!

Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS VIDEO to learn ways to help Devina settle into her new home.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
