My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Jag! An absolute gem of a senior boy on the hunt for a loving fur-ever family to live out his golden years in.

Jag came to us needing emergency surgery for an injured eye. He is now giving a permanent wink and looking extra cute doing so! He gets around well although sometimes can miscalculate his steps and bump the wall. It all comes with practice! In his senior years he is feeling a bit more stiff in the joints, so a home with minimal stairs and a family dedicated to getting him to a healthier weight is ideal!

Jag can be curious of new people at the start, sometimes giving a small bark. Once he has you figured out that you're good news, he is all loving and tail wags! He is happy to meander out into the yard and then come back inside to cozy up on his big dog bed. He is all about the maximum comfort.

He has lived in a home previously with a dog and a cat, but would likely do best being the only pet in the home now, so that is is all about him!!

Jag is ready to win you over with his loving heart and big brown eye! ♥

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
