My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Tide was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team December 3, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Tide! Tide is an incredibly sweet and smart girl who has been catching onto commands with ease! With her soft, expressive eyes and a tail that just won't stop, she'll charm you instantly. Tide loves meeting new people and gets along with most dogs. She's a pro on leash and would love to be your walking partner, though passing cars and bicycles sometimes make her a little nervous. Tide is a bit of a couch potato and would love to lounge around the house with you. She has displayed some separation anxiety and is looking for a family who is home most of the time and is dedicated to working through these behaviors. We have some tips, tricks, and trainer recommendations for you! Are you looking for a companion who loves nothing more than being by your side? Tide might be the one for you!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
