Adoption Fee $500 plus tax
Meet Kristofferson, an incredibly sweet, affectionate, active and playful pup! Kristoff (as his foster family calls him) found himself as a stray in a local shelter and he is so happy to now be in a foster home. He currently weighs about 13 lbs and his foster family estimates that he will be about 25 lbs fully grown.
Kristoff is a fun and cuddly boy. He has settled into the routines of his foster home quickly and enjoys following the family around the house. He is currently living with two other dogs (one is 40 lbs and the other is 65 lbs). He was unsure of the big dogs at first and would watch them from a distance. Now he is quick to accept their bids to play. He loves to play chase and wrestle with the 40 lb resident dog. He hasn't had exposure to cats.
Kristofferson is working hard on potty training and has made great progress. He's mostly accident free when taken outside on a consistent schedule. He sleeps quietly in his crate while his foster family is away, and always keeps his crate clean. He also sleeps through the night without a peep. He is becoming more comfortable with walking on leash, and does great when walking with other dogs. Kristoff can be unsure and timid when experiencing new things or places, and he benefits from having other dogs to learn from. He is constantly watching and learning from the resident dogs.
Kristoff loves people and spending time snuggling up after playing. He enjoys playing fetch with toys, chewing on bones, and being in the middle of all the action in the house. He is a typical puppy that will continue to flourish with routines and training. If you think Kristofferson could be the right match for your family, please consider filling out an application. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration.

The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.
When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.
Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.
Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
