Cooper was born about __________ and weighs about 17 lbs. We were contacted by a neighboring city humane society that has been overwhelmed for some time on a consistent basis due to the current drastic over population of dogs in the greater western NY region and somehow Cooper landed there and was stressed by the noisy and chaotic environment and was not showing well to the general public. When this happens the volunteers reach out to rescues to quickly get the dog into a more normal situation. While we admit coming into Joyful Rescues can be somewhat stressful itself Cooper has been here less than a week and is starting to adjust, but slowly as he is timid. He has been perfect with all the other dogs large and small and those more his size are very fun to run and play with. When the play is done he settles nicely. He has done well on the few car rides that it took to get him to the main site. The municipal shelter he came from is so over full that they've admitted they will likely have to euthanize for space, remember Cooper wasn't showing well. YIKES! Joyful Rescues has become dedicated to helping dogs that are abandoned or needing a new home in this greater western NY region and someone out there that finds Cooper on our site and welcomes him into their lives are going to be very happy! We must divulge that he came to us with the name of Kugel which we thought was odd and turns out it is a Jewish casserole. Although I'm sure it's yummy we felt that we wouldn't name a dog Tuna Noodle so he is adjusting nicely to a more normal name of Cooper. As for breed the shelter couldn't decide and just said "mixed" and we squint and guessed the best we could.
