My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rudolph ("Ruddy") is a sweet, affectionate, and incredibly smart dog. He loves to cuddle, give and get affectionate, and just chill. He is very smart, very food-driven, and loyal, which makes him easy to train. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate throughout the night. He is leash trained and knows how to sit. We're working on getting him off the couch but he's starting to learn "off". Since I've fostered him he has never barked, chewed, grazed food, or bit. He thrives on love and structure. He would be a good addition to a family with lots of love to give and I think he would do well with kids.

Personality & Characteristics:

  • My foster dog is good with: Everyone! I don't have another dog, cat, or kids but I think he would do well.

  • My foster dog is: Crate trained, house trained, and low shed. He free roams the home when we are home (even if we're in another room) and we've had no issues. He's crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate and when we leave the apartment

  • 3 Keywords for your pup: Loving, smart, loyal

  • Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 6! He loves to sleep and chill at home but then gets some energy outside.

  • Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Quiet / has never barked

  • Walking Manners: Leash trained. minimal leash pulling and follows you around

  • Appetite: Hungry. loves treats and is very treat-driven

  • Does the following: (Gets car sick, nervous outside, has separation anxiety, hates the bath, none of the above): None. Doesn't love the bath but if you hold his collar he'll eventually sit and let you

  • Favorite Things: cuddles and food

  • Commands/Tricks: sit, recall (moderate, work in progress)

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
