My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rudolph ("Ruddy") is a sweet, affectionate, and smart dog. He loves to cuddle, relax on the couch, and food/treats. He is very food-driven and loyal which makes him easy to trian. He loves people and warms up to them quickly. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate throughout the night. He is fully house trained and can free-roam the house without any accidents (potty, chewing, etc.) even if unattended. He is generally leash trained though needs time to perfect it as some times he gets distrated with city smells. Since being in foster care he has never barked, chewed anything in the house, or grazed food. He thrives on structure - currently getting walked in the morning, mid-day and night time with meals after each walk (he's malnourished so we're working on getting his weight up!). He does like to play bite and is slowly learning playing is with toys and on a schedule. He would be a great addition to a family - staffordshires are great family dogs.

Personality & Characteristics:

  • My foster dog is good with: Eeveryone!  I don't have another dog, cat, or kids but I think he would do well if introduced slowly.

  • My foster dog is: Crate trained, house trained, and low shed. He free roams the home when we are home (even if we're in another room) and we've had no issues. He's crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate and sometimes when we leave the apartment

  • 3 Keywords for your pup: Loving, smart, playful

  • Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 6! He loves to sleep and chill at home but then gets some energy outside. Loves to go on short runs

  • Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Quiet / has never barked

  • Walking Manners: Somewhat leash trained with some pulling when there are distractions

  • Appetite: Hungry. Loves treats and will eat anything

  • Favorite Things: cuddles and food

  • Commands/Tricks: sit, off, recall (moderate, work in progress)

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
