My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sugar Plum Fairy! She is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet! This Georgia gal has recently traded in her southern roots for the hustle and bustle of city life! Sugar Plum Fairy, AKA Sugar, is still getting the hang of the big city, but she’s already mastered the art of snuggling and loves her walks.

When she's not exploring new neighborhoods, you can find her cozying up in a lap (she's a total lap dog wannabe) or keeping you company while you work from home. With her big, soulful eyes and a love for all things food, Sugar is the perfect companion for someone who appreciates both quiet moments and fun adventures.

Ready for a sweet and snuggly best friend? Sugar is ready to bring you a lot of joy, snuggles, and kisses!

Personality & Characteristics:
- My foster dog is good with: When we go on walks she doesn't have any reactivity to walking by other dogs or kids. She smiles and wags her tail, wanting to say hello.
- My foster dog is: She is almost entirely house-trained! She can sleep overnight with no accidents (YAY) and knows how to pee and poop outside. She is also crate trained and will go into the crate easily with a toy and treat if you need to run errands or step away from home for a little while.
- 3 Keywords for your pup: Snugglebug, Sweetheart, Foodie
- Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 5 - she loves her outdoor walks and likes to play fetch, but is also just as happy napping on the couch with you while you binge-watch your favorite series.
- Barker? Or Quiet Pup? I haven't heard her bark yet. She does have a low cry when trying to get your attention, but it is very low.
- Walking Manners: She zigzags when walking as she is so excited and wants to smell everything, but she will follow your command when needed, especially if a treat is involved (did I mention she loves food?!).
- Appetite: Loves her meals and treats! She will also sit by your feet when you are cooking hoping you give her a little something extra!
- Does the following: She always prefers to have your attention and will cry a little if you are trying to work or cook. However, she will eventually move on to her toys or napping on the couch.
- Favorite Things: Snuggles, walks, and food!
- Commands/Tricks: She has become the master of Sit and we are now working on Stay and Paw!

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
