Rory is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. Rory is a very sweet by nature dog. He loves to cuddle up under a blanket and is very loyal to his owner. While he is older and more than content snuggling up and watching a show, he does still have a little bit of a playful nature to him. Rory is best suited for a home without kids. He is very protective of our family and does awesome with my own kids. However, he is definitely a dog that feels a need to protect the household and can show signs of aggression when other kids and people are in our home and feels that his family is being threatened whether there is a legitimate threat or not. I have had Rory for 9 years and he is a great dog. The only reason I am considering rehoming him is because his overly protective nature impedes my kids being able to have friends visit without causing Rory to experience anxiety. He is very anxious by nature. He mostly gets along very well with other dogs but occasionally another dog can rub him the wrong way.
