My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are so excited to introduce everyone to Purrtricia, one of our FIP warriors. Purrtricia was rescued from Wayne County Animal Shelter with her 2 kittens. It was immediately apparent Purrtricia was sick, weighing only 4 pounds and not eating. She was taken to the vet, and her blood work confirmed she had FIP. Thankfully, due to all the great supporters of Purr Partners, we were able to afford the 14 weeks of daily medication. After completing the medication and then 12 more weeks of observation, Purrtricia's blood work has come back normal, and she is ready to find her forever family.

Purrtricia enjoys being the one in charge. If the other cats don't want to be cleaned, she will body slam them and hold them down to give them the proper cleaning. If she's not busy telling the other kitties what to do, she is chasing tinsel balls through the house or eating. She enjoys wet food and Temptations. It won't take long to win her heart with food bribes.

During the time Purrtricia was receiving the FIP treatment, she experienced a seizure. She has experienced a few more seizures since the initial one, so she is currently on seizure medicine. If you are interested in adopting Purrtricia, please realize she may need seizure medicine for her lifetime. Her current seizure medicine is given 3x a day but, since Purrtricia is so used to being medicated, she is very easy to give medicine to. She is so used to it, she will come to her foster parents to get her medicine.

More about this rescue

Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina — incorporated in 2009 by two friends, four cats, and no budget. These two women realized the need for a "cat only" rescue that worked with rural shelters — where cats routinely lose their lives. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today. From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in foster care. We have saved the lives of over 3500 cats and are still growing!
