My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Frannie, a shy little budgie who is working on coming out of her shell. Frannie came to STAR without a name, so we took it upon ourselves to give her a classic, feminine moniker to hopefully help boost her confidence! So far, it hasn't helped much...she is still working herself up to try adventurous things like moving from one part of her cage to another, taking baths, and making noises louder than a small peep. These are all very scary things to a little budgie, so we are giving her all of the time that she needs! Her forever home will need to be patient with her and provide lots of opportunities to interact on her own terms, preferably with other budgie companions to help encourage natural bird behaviors. Adoption fee: $15

We will review your application, and perform a background check, vet check and when applicable, a landlord check.

For most species, a meeting is required. For some species, multiple meetings may be needed or required.

Sign Adoption Contract

Once approved, sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

Whether interested in adopting a particular bird or not, you will need to fill out an Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. From there, our adoption team will process your application (including background check, veterinarian check for all current animals, and a home visit)
We will not ship any of our adoptable birds, and have a 100-mile adoption radius. We do not adopt to breeders. We are not able to adopt birds into homes that use Teflon product or smoke due to toxicity dangers.
