Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Hello! My ex-wife and I adopted Brisket from Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento when she was under a year old. She's 5 now and the shelter believes she's a Dutch Shepherd mix.
She's fully house-trained, has never had an accident, and doesn’t destroy anything except her toys.
Brisket is generally good with people but can get anxious in loud environments (parties, live music, construction) and has nipped at someone before.
She barks at outside noises or deliveries with a deep bark, but stops after a few seconds.
At home, she’s okay with other dogs as long as they don’t bother her; if they do, she’ll growl or slap them. She also has some leash aggression when approaching other dogs during walks.
Brisket is very loving but has always been a bit fearful, though she’s improved over time. She’d likely do best in a calm home with someone who enjoys playing and cuddling.
