My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mary Kate!

Once upon a time there was an itty bitty precious 5 week old little thing that was found roaming the rough streets of Fort Worth. When she was brought to the shelter, she tested positive for Parvo. That is almost always a death sentence, for a dog in the shelter. They didn’t even bother giving her a name. Somehow though, she made it through treatment and thrived… UNTIL she caught an upper respiratory infection. The shelter couldn’t keep her any longer and she was out of time. She went to the top of the code red list. It’s hard to believe that an 8 week old puppy could lose their life because of space and illness, but it happens… Thankfully we snatched this darling up with minutes to spare and named her Mary Kate. (Approx 9 weeks as of 12.20.24)

This little angel is as quiet as a church mouse. She is kennel trained and as long as she has a bed, she is happy to doze the day away. When she’s out, she is the most playful, bouncy baby girl. She’ll stick her hiney in the air when playing and wag that tail and your heart will melt. I forgot to mention, if you put her in your arms, she’ll stay content there all day. If you lay down with her in your arms to take a nap, this sweetheart won’t move an inch. She lives to love and be cuddled.

Mary Kate completely ignores cats. Loves kids and is aching to play with the other dogs. This little girl is a beautiful blank slate that could get along with anyone. She is all love and light and we are so thankful we get the privilege of being her foster family!

Mary Kate was born October 9, 2024 and is located in a foster home in Texas.

OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS OR COLORADO BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information.

All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas or Colorado. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc.).

Our out of state adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of departure.

Additional adoption info

The initial phase of our adoption protocol involves prospective adopters completing an adoption application.

Following submission, our administrative team conducts a thorough review, and if approved, the application is then forwarded to the animal's foster.

Subsequently, a phone interview is scheduled to address follow-up queries, provide additional information about the pet, and acquaint the adopter with our organization. If the interview is successful, arrangements are made for a meet and greet, along with a home visit. For pets adopted out of state, the meet and greet and home visit are conducted virtually.

The final steps in our adoption process include verification of identification, finalization of the adoption contract, and payment of the adoption fee.
