Watch out world, here come Phoebe!
Phoebe is estimated to be about 2.5 months old and is an adorable girl who can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! She would thrive with an active family who has the time to dedicate to keep her days full of fun and enrichment. Phoebe currently weighs around 9lbs. Her mom weighs around 35lbs and her suspected dad weighs around 50lbs. She and her siblings are super mutts, but we think they will be medium-sized when fully grown based on their parents' sizes.
Phoebe came to us from another rescue, BONES Pet Rescue, in Covelo, CA. BONES works with the stray and feral dogs in the area to get the puppies to other rescues and gets the parents spayed/neutered and adopted. They reached out needing rescue placement for two litters of puppies. We were able to take a little or four (Robin, Drake, Jay, and Phoebe) and a puppy from the larger litter (Mapgpie) and the rest went to other local rescues. These kiddos are looking for individual homes so they can get the one-on-one attention they need.
Phoebe is the tomboy of the group. She is the first to initiate playtime and she loves nothing more than to make new friends to play with. She is still learning all her basic manners, so needs a family committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is used to a life outside, so needs a family who can be patient with her as she adjusts to the indoor life.
Phoebe has done great living with other dogs and we think she would love to have a playful pup to live with so she always has someone to wrestle with. She also seems like she could do well as an only pup with lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. We haven't seen Phoebe around cats, but she is young enough that she could do well learning how to be respectful of cats. Phoebe could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years or older.
Phoebe is still working on her house and crate training, so her new family will need to be patient with her and expect accidents. She would do best with a family who has a schedule that will allow them to slowly acclimate her to being home alone.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.
Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
