HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is currently spending time in a foster home. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.
---
- Likes to stay close to his favorite people and loves getting lots of cuddles and butt scratches
- A great mix of active and snuggly; loves to play with tug toys and tennis balls
- Gets hardcore zoomies when he's having fun
- Enjoys going on walks and may do best with a harness
- Loves chewing on bones
- Favorite treat is popcorn!
- Does great in his kennel
- Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home
- Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style and has gotten along well with other dogs in his foster home
- Has gotten along with cats in his foster home after a slow introduction to them, occasionally tries to chase cats but will return to his people if the cats ignore him
- Looking for a teens-and-up home right now
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
