Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Have you been looking for a new jogging or biking partner? What about someone who would love to spend hours outside with you going on hikes or even just playing in the yard? Yes?? Sounds like Parker is the perfect boy for you!
Parker has been in the shelter looking for his forever home since December. This boy is very active and would really enjoy others to go on adventures with. Although he is a super friendly guy, a home with cats or other small animals wouldn`t be a good fit for him.
IN SHELTER NOTES AND IDEAL HOME:
SIZE: 61 pounds
HOME TYPE: Any, as long as I`m with you.
CHILDREN: Yes - older dog savvy children or adults as he can be jumpy, mouthy and doesn`t understand his size.
CATS AND SMALL ANIMALS: No- prey drive.
OTHER DOGS: Yes- Dogs potentially compatible.
ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL: High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.
HUMAN COMPATIBILITY: Previous large dog owner would be an asset.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS: Minimum 3 In person training sessions to work on the following; Basic obedience, Basic manners (jumping up, mouthing), Socialization, socialization, prey drive.
HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER: Very human social he loves to spend lots of time with everyone he meets.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Being outdoors, spending time with the people he loves.
**For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour fact sheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions
**Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
