Meet Astrid, the wonder puppy with a heart full of resilience and love! This beautiful 8-month-old German Shepherd has had quite the journey and is now ready to find her forever family.
Astrid’s story began with a rough start when good Samaritans found her at just 3 months old, thin and battling parvo. Thanks to the care of her rescuers and the lifesaving parvo monoclonal antibody treatment, Astrid pulled through like the warrior she is. She faced a secondary infection during recovery, but with strong antibiotics and lots of love, she made a full comeback. Her foster mom gave her extra time to ensure she was completely healthy and happy, and now Astrid is thriving.
Astrid is microchipped, spayed, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventions. She’s a high-energy sweetheart who loves to play and gets along wonderfully with other active dogs. She has experience around kids, cats, and dogs of all kinds and has done outstanding with them all.
Being a typical German Shepherd, Astrid needs an active family to keep her busy and help her thrive. She’s kennel trained and house trained, though she may need a refresher as she transitions to her forever home. Continued training will help her reach her full potential as the smart, loyal companion she’s meant to be.
If you’re ready for an energetic and loving pup to join your family, Astrid is waiting to meet you. Submit your application today to welcome this wonder puppy into your life!

Additional adoption info
Adoption application required.
Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..
If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.
Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.
We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.
We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
