My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Presenting, the flaming floof! The talky tangerine! The Persian pumpkin! The one and only… MUSE! This floppy sweetheart loves snuggles and hugs and kisses and will happily curl up on your lap, chest, stomach, shoulder, whatever you have sitting next to your computer, and inside any cabinet you leave open. It takes her some time to adjust to new surroundings, but as long as you respect her boundaries, she will warm up to you in time and before you know it you’ll be waking up to her sitting on your chest and purring. She will also sniff out any trace of rodent interlopers and be a fierce sentinel in protecting your home. Once she gets accustomed to new surroundings, Muse is extremely chatty and speaks in separate distinct “words.”

Muse is not at all fond of other cats, and would need to be the only cat in your home. She also prefers to have two litter boxes, so that should be taken into consideration when determining if she’s a good fit for  your home.

This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
