HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.
---
- A bouncy boy who loves to play and cuddle once he's comfortable; can entertain himself well with toys
- Enjoys walks and may be a good hiking buddy; also rides well in the car
- May take some time to warm up, but he's the sweetest boy once he knows you're his friend
- Appears to be housetrained and has only had minor accidents in his foster home when he is very excited; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule and routine
- Has done well in a crate and is generally a quieter guy; may bark on occasion when he wants attention from his people or his dog friends
- Appreciates routine and goes into his kennel without prompting for mealtimes
- Has been living with a smaller dog in his foster home and while he can be a rowdy player, he has listened well to the boundaries the other dog sets; really enjoys having a dog friend and may like a buddy in his new home
- Has been doing well with apartment life in his foster home and has not been too bothered by noises
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
