My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There’s something truly special about May Flower. This sweet, gentle girl has a way of capturing hearts effortlessly with her warm eyes, soft snuggles, and unwavering affection. May is the kind of dog who makes every day feel brighter. Whether she’s nuzzling into your lap for belly rubs or trotting by your side on a sunny patio, she radiates pure love and joy. She’s a loving companion who longs for a family to adore and a forever home to call her own.

May’s life is a celebration of the little things: zooming through the yard, savoring a pup cup, feeling the wind during a car ride, or simply curling up next to her favorite person. She’ll happily share her heart and her couch, snuggling in for lazy mornings or cozy evenings, her soft head resting gently on your lap. If you let her, she’ll show you her world—a world where love is abundant, moments are cherished, and every small joy feels extraordinary.

Meet May Here:

Currently, May is thriving in a foster home where she lives peacefully with an older child (age 8+), a dog, and a cat. Her ability to get along with everyone showcases her adaptable and loving personality. While she’s great with respectful kids 8 and up, she would do best with children who can appreciate her gentle nature and understand how to interact with her appropriately.

We think May might be a German Shepherd and American Pit Bull Terrier mix, but her true breed is “Sweet Angel.” At about 2 years old and 54 pounds, she’s perfectly sized for both adventure and cuddles. May is a dog’s best friend, always respectful and inclusive, and she’s lived peacefully with dogs of all sizes, including tiny Chihuahua mixes. She even has a special role here at Three Little Pitties as an assessment dog, helping other rescues learn that the world can be a safe and joyful place.

May is also cat-tolerant, and with proper introductions, we believe she could live with dog-savvy feline friends. Out in the world, she’s a star—polite on leash, wonderful in the car, and a delight in public settings. Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, a concert in the park, or a quick trip for a pup cup, May is always ready to spread love and turn heads with her beautiful smile.

May’s perfect home is one filled with love, belly rubs, and maybe even a doggy sibling to share her days. She’s eager to be part of a family who will treasure her affectionate nature and make her feel like the cherished companion she’s meant to be. May is food-motivated, already knows some basic commands, and is ready to learn whatever her new family wants to teach her.

We’re here to ensure May Flower finds her perfect match, and we’ll do everything we can to make that happen. If you’re ready to welcome this extraordinary girl into your life, don’t wait—May Flower is ready to give her whole heart to the family she’s been dreaming of.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
