Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you`re looking for an easy-going older dog that is still ready for an adventure, Sven might be your guy! Sven is 7 and a half years old but doesn`t show it. As soon as you enter Sven`s kennel, he jumps for joy and then grabs his favorite toy to show you, but no you can`t have it thank you very much! For Sven, fetch isn`t just a hobby. It`s a passion. Sven will gladly play fetch as long as you let him and he is learning to give up his ball for another throw. Sven is also happy to play some close range fetch indoors. While he doesn`t seem to mind the other dogs in the shelter, Sven has been attacked by other dogs in his past, so we recommend caution introducing Sven to new dogs. A home with small children might not be ideal for Sven just because he is a big guy with a lethal tail wag when he`s excited! Sven loves to meet new people. The only thing more exciting than a new friend is a new toy! Sven is pretty mellow on the leash until he sees a tennis ball in the distance. This is an area for continued training but in the mean time, it`s important that Sven`s person is able to physically manage him. Sven is potty trained, although accidents can happen as dogs adjust to a new environment. Sven is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines.
Please give us a call at 509-332-3422 or email us at staff@whitmanpets.org to meet Sven!
