Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Copper is our sweet 9-year-old miniature dachshund who has been a loving and loyal companion since he was a puppy. He thrives on attention and snuggles in bed, and takes his role as a protector seriously. Copper has lived with cats his whole life, playfully chasing them without harm, and has lived with another dog but is reactive to new dogs and people. For this reason, we recommend he be the only dog or have a slow introduction process if a second dog is involved.
Despite two years of efforts to socialize him with our two-year-old, Copper remains uncomfortable and on edge around children. With a one-month-old now in the home, we realize this situation isn’t fair to him. He growls, avoids, and occasionally snaps (without biting) when overwhelmed. Copper would thrive in a child-free home or with older kids who respect his space. He’s potty trained but will need time to adjust to a new environment. Copper is a devoted companion looking for a calm, patient home where he can feel safe.
