My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOREVER HOME NEEDED
Say hello to Wills! He is a 11-month-old, 12lb Chihuahua mix who came to us from CA after being rescued from a hoarding situation. He is currently living in a foster home.

Do you wish you could have a pet that is both cat and dog? Wills is your small, gold and handsome guy for that! This lanky boy with gold eyes would love to spend many hours daily striking glamorous poses on your couch, preferably with you, but he's happy to nap without you too. He loves to be held and kissed, and he keeps track of you as you move around the house. He takes treats very gently. He's had little exposure to the outside world until he went to his foster home. But he's curious and brave, and he's been learning a lot the last few weeks. He's still shy around some men and kids, but he's warming up to the rest of the world, especially if approached slowly and warmly. If he gets overwhelmed, he freezes, and then is happy to be picked up by you and watch the world from your arms. He is great on leash and loves walks, especially in parks where there is less to absorb. He's perfect in the car, and he's been great at housetraining. He would do best in a house with no kids, and with other small dogs as they give him confidence or soaking up all the human love.

Wills will need a patient adopter and would do best in a calm and peaceful neighborhood so that he can feel comfortable enough to come out of his shell.

Wills is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs are/or will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.

Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
