My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Champ – Your Perfect Little Companion!

Champ is a 2-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua mix with a striking red and white coat that matches his adorable personality. He’s recently been neutered, is up to date on DHPP and Rabies vaccinations, heartworm negative, and currently on prevention.

This tiny guy came to the shelter with multiple dogs and has been adjusting well to his new surroundings.  Champ has been warming up beautifully in his foster home, proving that he just needs patience and love to feel secure.

Champ is a bundle of charm—did we mention how adorable he is? He’s more comfortable around dogs and seems to prefer running away from cats rather than toward them, so a home without feline companions might be his preference.

With his lovable personality and small stature, Champ is looking for a forever home where he can bring endless joy and cuddles to his new family. Could that home be yours?

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
