My story

Ingrid is in a foster home in Fort Atkinson with 5 dogs of various ages and sizes, as well as two younger children.

Ingrid is about a year old and weighs around 14 pounds, but she is a long legged 14 pounds and is still filling out a bit! She has experience living with lots of other dogs, and she has experience getting along with a cat.

Ingrid is affectionate and soft natured. She loves the dog park, soft toys, and is very curious! She is housetrained, kennel trained, knows basic commands, and can listen extremely well due to her lovely large ears :). She loves to play with other dogs and zoom around the yard! She plays well with dogs ranging from her own size to 70 pounds! While she would do excellent with a companion in the home, she would also do fine as an only dog who gets extra social opportunities.

Ingrid is we recently surrendered to rescue as the family didn’t think the older children were ready for a dog or treating her kindly. The children in her home now are very gentle, quiet and kind with her so she could live with dog experienced children, but not knowing what all transpired before may make her a better candidate for teens or adults.

Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once
approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250.
