Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dixie came to Rescue as a victim of Hurricane Katrina. She was found caught in some wires that cut through one foot, and severely cut up others. She was pregnant, Heartworm Positive, and homeless. She was found at the makeshift shelter by a Rottweiler Rescue Volunteer who graciously took her to the Rotti Camp to receive the care and attention she needed. Dixie was finally brought to CT (with Lightning, a Rotti Mix) to a family with another dog. She was Spayed and continued her HW Treatment, unfortunatly, the dog already in the family wants nothing to do with them, she the family was force to surrender both Dixie and Lightning to our Shelter. Dixie does have a rear foot with permanent damage from her injuries, but it needs no care and certainly doesn't slow her down.
She is one of the sweetest Shepherds you will find and has lived with other dogs, a cat, and 9 year old child.
Dixie is a very special girl. If you believe you may be the right home for her, please contact me at k-9mom@webtv.net to discuss things further.
She does have an adoption fee.
