My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team in care on 10/30/2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Acheron is a 1.5-year-old male Husky mix who is full of life, curiosity, and playfulness. With his striking eyes, soft face, and friendly nature, he's sure to steal your heart in no time. Acheron is a social guy who loves to greet people with big, wagging tail and a loose, happy body. He's a true adventurer at heart, always eager to explore his surroundings.

Acheron's energy is infectious! When he's outside in the yard, you'll see him happily chasing tennis balls, zooming around, and sniffing every corner of the space. He's playful and fun, with plenty of spunk to keep you entertained. While he does pull a bit on the leash, especially when heading out for walks, he's easily redirected and will happily follow your lead once he's in motion.

This young pup is treat-motivated and responsive to positive reinforcement, which makes him a great candidate for continued training. He's still getting used to all types of interactions with people and may be a little shy about touch at first, especially around his head or back. However, Acheron is a quick learner, and with time and patience, he'll thrive in an environment where he feels secure and loved.

Acheron is looking for an active and patient adopter who can match his energy and help him build confidence. He would love a home where he can get plenty of physical and mental stimulation, whether that's through play, training, or long walks. With some time, consistency, and love, Acheron will make a loyal and joyful companion who'll keep you on your toes with his playful antics.

If you're looking for a spirited, energetic dog to be your adventure buddy and offer endless fun, Acheron is your guy! Come meet him today and see just how much fun life can be with a dog like Acheron by your side..

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
