My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Teddy was brought in by his previous owner on December 17, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Teddy, a handsome and sensitive soul looking for a patient and understanding home. Teddy can be shy around new people and environments, so he'll thrive in a calm, quiet household without much hustle and bustle. He's done well with calm, respectful dogs who can help him feel braver, though he's also shown some fearfulness with other pups-because of this, a meet-and-greet with any potential canine siblings is a must. While Teddy can be a little sensitive about petting, he's made great strides in our care and continues to grow in confidence. Teddy is looking for an adult-only home or one with kids 12+ who can respect his boundaries and help him feel secure. Could you be the one to help this sweet boy blossom? Make sure to bring the family along to meet Teddy and don't forget to bring a leash and collar!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
