My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This girl is timid when you stretch out your hand at her. She loves her human, but really appreciates getting to sniff you first and get to know her surroundings before she engages into her full self. She will be very careful around other cats and so she may do well as a solo kitty. If she is in a place with other kitties, she will not be shy to keep her distance until she is ready to play with them. She can typically take a few pets at a time and will want to retract to a peaceful nap shortly after. She is an excellent cat for someone who knows how to focus quality time when she is ready and give her space after to rest on her own, sometimes she’ll want to lay down next to you. When it comes to toys, she enjoys both toys she can bat herself, marble mazes, and wand or string toys that her human holds for her. Best to be around adults as she gets nervous around high-energy jerky movements that young kids may have. Please consider adopting her with a sibling! Both Salt (KRLA-A-8051) and Pepper (KRLA-A-8050) are available to play!

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
